  • UCEAP students participating in the Pacific Island Environmental & Community Health–Australia & Solomon Islands program were recently featured in a local Solomon Islands newspaper. 

    "Seventeen undergraduate and postgraduate students from the University of California, USA and three lecturers from University of Queensland (UQ) are in the country to undergo a program on environmental health...during one month long field work, they will examine health issues, sanitation, ecology and environmental health..."
  • UCEAP Alumni Emerging Leader Award Recipient – Jeremy Hessler
    Jeremy is a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice. He represents the United States in environmental law cases that involve endangered species and other wildlife. He also counsels federal agencies on how to best comply with environmental statutes in carrying out their missions. Jeremy studied at the University of London, Queen Mary University in the United Kingdom, and graduated from UC Riverside.

  • We are also pleased to announce a relationship with the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (formerly the Monterey Institute of International Studies).

    All UCEAP alumni will receive a guaranteed scholarship of $5,000 for graduate study at MIIS. Students are also eligible for other merit and need-based awards. MIIS came to UCEAP to offer this scholarship because they know our students are culturally competent, academically accomplished, and often have advanced language skills. FEA Summer Internship

The Fund for Education Abroad (FEA) is looking for a Communications Intern to begin in July, 2017 at our DC office. The internship is part-time and unpaid.

Major benefits for the intern include gaining important knowledge of nonprofit administration, access to training in marketing and communications, and a network of committed International Education professionals. Because FEA is a small-staffed organization, interns will get hands on experience in a variety of areas and will have the opportunity for meaningful involvement in shaping the direction of the organization.

Description of the Internship:

The FEA Communications Intern position was created in response to FEA's increasing growth. The intern will assist the Program Coordinator implement the annual fall mailing, conduct outreach to relevant stakeholders in the international education field, and implement a communications plan aimed at increasing FEA visibility. The intern will also serve as an editor of the FEA Scholar Blog.

Skills:

  *   Strong organizational and research skills

  *   Excellent communications skills and good writing skills

  *   Confident, professional manner in dealing with clients and colleagues

  *   Unflinching attention to detail

  *   Facility with Microsoft office

  *   Passion for International Education

  *   Ability to work with minimal supervision

 Bonus Skills:

  *   Knowledge of other countries or languages

  *   Travel and cultural background

  *   Interest in nonprofit management, marketing, and customer service

  *   Ability to work on several projects at one time, to work under pressure, and to meet deadlines

  *   Commitment to increasing access for underrepresented students

  *   Adaptability and flexibility-and a sense of humor!
