Applying to many scholarships increases your chances of receiving funding. While each scholarship has its own level of competitiveness, all have the same goal of helping students to study or work abroad. We encourage you to read each website carefully for eligibility, application instructions and deadlines. Most of all, good luck!

      • UC Education Abroad Program  - Do you dare to take the road less traveled? Students that turn in a completed UCEAP application and turn in the UCEAP-UCR Scholarship Application are eligible to receive the Off the Beaten Path Scholarship to the following UCEAP countries and programs:

        To apply for the scholarship, you must have a 2.85 gpa, submit the UCR Scholarship application, and be selected for an UCEAP program listed in the Off the Beaten Path Country List for the 2018-19 academic year. The deadline to submit a completed UCEAP Application and UCEAP-UCR Scholarship Application is January 8, 2018. You may turn in your application on any Monday between 10/23 and 1/8 after 3pm. Turn your application in to Education Abroad in Surge 321.

      • EF Language

        EF will provide 10% off to UCR students traveling with EF from September 2017 to August 2018 interested in broadening their horizons in 3 of our 12 language immersion destinations: Seoul, South Korea, Tokyo, Japan, and Playa Tamarindo, Costa Rica.

        Scholarship is open to all UCR students. No prior language experience required. For more information, please contact fiona.frick@ef.com. All applications are due October 31st.

      • Ben-Gurion University of the Negev Scholarship

        BGU will provide a $2500 scholarship for a UCR student accepted to a semester/year program through UCEAP for 2018-2019 semester/academic year. 

        To apply for the scholarship, you must have a 3.0 gpa, submit the UCR Scholarship application, and be selected for the BGU UCEAP program for the 2017-18 semester/academic year. The deadline to submit a completed UCEAP Application and UCEAP-UCR Scholarship Application is January 8, 2018. You may turn in your application on any Monday between 10/23 and 1/8 after 3pm. Turn your application in to Education Abroad in Surge 321.

      • IFSA-Butler - Spring Semester 2018 Reimagining Europe program in Czech Republic Scholarship

        All UCR Students who participate in the Spring Semester 2018 Reimagining Europe program in Prague, Czech Republic, will receive an automatic $3000 scholarship in the form of a program fee reduction.

        Application deadline is Oct 15th.

        You will need to start your OAP application by Oct 31st.

      • IFSA-Butler and the Alliance for Global Education Scholarship

        A (1) $1000 scholarship to a UCR student who participates in on an 2018 IFSA-Butler Spring/Semester 1 program in one of the following locations: China, India, Israel, Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico, or Peru. Please note that this scholarship will come in the form of a Program Fee Reduction which is applied to your IFSA Butler Bill

        Students should submit the regular IFSA Butler/Alliance for Global Education online program application by the program deadline at http://www.ifsa-butler.org/.

        Eligible applicants for the scholarship will be selected by UCR's OAP coordinator. You will need to start your OAP application by Oct 31st.

      • STA Travel & FEA - Start the Adventure Scholarship

        STA Travel  and Fund for Education Abroad has created two (2) $2500 scholarships for students for a study abroad program.  These awards are part of STA Travel’s mission to make international education accessible. 

        The 2018-19 application cycle will open on November 15, 2017. Apply at http://fundforeducationabroad.org/applicants/

      • Government of Israel Study Abroad Scholarship Program for Hispanic Students

        The Government of Israel invites students of Hispanic American backgrounds to apply to a new scholarship aimed at bringing students to Israel to study at top universities. The scholarships are designed to expand studying abroad opportunities for full time Undergraduate and Graduate students. This scholarship aligns with Israel’s mission to establish a cross-cultural bridge between Israelis and Americans of various backgrounds.
         

      • Linguistic Horizons - Internship in Sacred Valley of the  Incas, PERU 

        Destination: Urubamba, Sacred Valley of the Incas, Peru (1 hour from the city of Cusco and 1.5 hours from Machu Picchu). This is a rural mountain town in the Andes! We are close enough to the tourist sites but far enough away to have an authentic experience and immerse in the Spanish language. 

        Internship in your field of study or interest 

        UCR discount: Save $150 by applying by December 1st for the Summer 2018 program or by November 3rd for the Winter Break 2017/2018 or Spring quarter 2018 program

      • Linguistic Horizons - Internship in La Coruna, SPAIN - Summer

        Destination: A Coruña is a coastal city in the region of Galicia. The city is a 1 hour flight from Barcelona and Madrid. A Coruña is a great place to fully immerse in the Spanish language as it is not touristy and most locals do not speak any English. Within the city there are beautiful beaches, parks, museums, great restaurants and nightlife. The cost of living is much lower here making it an attractive destination for Spain. 

        Combine studying Spanish with an internship in your field

        Earn 6 semester/ 9 quarter credits in 5 weeks or 12 semester/18 quarter in 10 weeks

        UCR discount: Save $200 by applying before December 1st for Summer 2018

        To qualify, you must have at least intermediate level Spanish.

      • Linguistic Horizons - Study Spanish in SPAIN - Summer

      • International Studies Abroad - Colombia Discount

        Location: Barranquilla, Colombia

        Program Name: Latin American Studies, International Business, Engineering & Courses with Locals at Universidad del Norte

        Program Price: $9,950 - $500 Off the Beaten Path Grant = $9,450 for first five students

        Additional Information: Program price includes tuition, fees, housing, meals, excursions and more

        Academic Information: Courses available in English and Spanish.

        Eligibility: 2.5 minimum GPA, no language prerequisite, $500 discount for first five students who participate by Spring 2019.

      •  Lorenzo de’Medici - Off the Beaten Path Tuscania

        Tuition Special

        The LdM Tuscania special fee grants a discounted tuition fee to UC Riverside students applying to the LdM Tuscania Campus for Spring 2017 and Summer 2017 sessions

        Application requirements:

        • Students must have a GPA of 2.8 or higher.
        • Students must be entering at least their sophomore year.
        • Students must have upheld a good academic and judicial standing with their home institutions.
        • Students must be at least 18 years of age.
        • Study Abroad Program Application (signed/completed)
        • One academic letter of recommendation from a Professor or Academic Advisor with knowledge of applicant's abilities, experience and education (or completed recommendation form from LdM Study Abroad Program Application)
        • Official transcript from current (or most recently attended) college/university
        • Students whose first language is not English must provide proof of English proficiency. (See details on LdM Study Abroad Program Application)
        • Transcripts and letters of recommendation may accompany application or be submitted under separate cover.

         

      • Academic Programs International - Semester/Academic Year Scholarship 

        API will provide a $250 scholarship for participation in a 2016-2017 semester/academic year program in one of the following API locations: 

        • Thimphu, Bhutan;
        • Beijing or Shanghai, China;
        • Havana, Cuba;
        • Budapest, Hungary;
        • Krakow, Poland, or 
          • Sharjah, U.A.E. 

         API Summer Scholarship: 

        API will provide a $150 scholarship for participation in one of API’s China, Cuba, or U.A.E. summer programs in 2017. 

        Eligibility Requirements:

        • 2.75 GPA, 
        • sophomore or higher standing, 
        • an API program application, 
        • an official transcript, 
        • letter of recommendation, 
        • University Contact Information Form, $150 application fee.  

        Note: In order to qualify for the scholarship, the student will need to have applied and been accepted to one of the above programs.
