Worldfest Education Abroad Fair

Transform your professional future by learning abroad now. It can take up to a year to figure out what to study, where to go, and how to pay for it all, so begin your journey to career readiness with a week of events focused on everything related to education abroad.

Our Worldfest Education Abroad fair runs from October 20 to November 6, and is open to all students, from UCR, the UC system, and beyond. Join us to explore how learning abroad can change your life!

An attorney from the UC Immigrant Legal Services Center will also join us to outline current law as well as the risks and challenges involved with domestic travel.

The JET Program: Live, Work, and Discover Japan! (UC-Wide)

The Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program offers young professionals the opportunity to work in Japan as Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) or Coordinators for International Relations (CIRs). Since 1987, more than 75,000 JET Program participants from over 70 countries have lived and worked in cities, towns, and villages throughout Japan. Join JET and become part of this exclusive network of like-minded international enthusiasts!

In this session, representatives from the Japanese consulates in Los Angeles and San Francisco will
discuss the positions and the application process for the 2021-2022 program cycle.

Peace Corps: Exploring Your Global Future (UC-Wide)

Peace Corps sends volunteers to serve in over 60 countries around the globe. Volunteers must be American citizens and come from all backgrounds to represent the diversity of America abroad. They work at a grassroots level in six different program areas—education, health, environment, youth development, agriculture and community economic development—for a period of 27 months. Volunteers receive transportation to and from the country, a monthly living stipend, vacation and health benefits, and significant training. The Peace Corps provides loan deferment options and, after completing service, volunteers receive a readjustment allowance of over $9,000, lifetime eligibility for certain graduate school fellowships and one year of preferential hiring for federal positions. Peace Corps service is a life-changing experience that develops leadership skills and opens doors professionally and academically. Join this virtual panel to hear from returned Peace Corps volunteers and learn how the Peace Corps can help you explore your global future.

UCLA Travel Study (TS) offers experiential learning opportunities, where instruction is not limited to the classroom. UC San Diego Global Seminars 2021 Drop-in Advising

UC San Diego Global Seminars are high impact programs designed to give students a deeper understanding of the course content through experiential learning. These five-week long summer study abroad or study away experiences are led by a UCSD professor and are open to undergraduates from any campus. Students enroll in a package of two courses for a total of eight UCSD quarter units. Class sizes are intentionally kept small to create opportunities for one-on-one interaction with some of the best faculty at UCSD, and each program contains site visits that give students a deeper understanding of the course content. This year we are offering new domestic, hybrid, and virtual options for the first time to make sure that these educational opportunities remain accessible despite potential restrictions on international travel.
